Rally planning begins

Yesterday we had off, so I volunteered basically all day for my volunteership.  Danny, Naomi and I were in charge of planning a rally for Nov. 1st, and also we called supporters of the proposition and got their support for the event.  We earned a total of six and a half hours during the day of volunteer hours.

Phone Banks and More

So two days ago I volunteered again, worked a phone bank and also discussed plans for a rally today, on Thursday.  We worked at home the day before working on a website for the proposition.  The phone bank was about the same as last time, I called a lot of numbers and received varied responses.  What was interesting though, was that we discussed plans for a rally today, on Thursday.  Today I gave a speech at the rally, and was filmed by the news talking about the proposition.  It was very fun, and I'm glad it was successful.  Also, the day before during advisory we announced the rally, earning more time.  Together, I believe I gained another 8 hours between all of the activities.

New Volunteership!

After contacting the campaign for Yes on Proposition J, I experienced my first volunteer opportunity with them.
On Saturday I volunteered for them for six hours, then worked for another hour on a face book website promoting Prop J.  After an intro to what we were going to be doing, we did a phone bank, where we called people off a list and found if they supported Prop J or not.  I'm looking forward to an event this Thursday that is promoting the proposition using student voices.
